226 Szabó László László Szabó FOWLING WITH LIME IN THE CENTRAL TISZA REGION In 1969 while collecting material for the Ethnographical Atlas of Szolnok County (Szolnok Megyei Neprajzi Atlasz) in the village of Tiszapiispok with my colleague Tibor Bellon, we fell in with a fowler. He was willing to introduce this forbidden profession to us and allowed us to take pictures as well. We documented all the details, the preparation of lime, setting a branch up and fixing it into the ground, greasing the sticks and branches with lime and putting a decoy-bird on it. Later on I had a chance to see the preparation of lime once more how they made it out of mistletoe (Viscum Album) but I wasn't allowed to take pictures. Ever since I collected material along the River Tisza and elsewhere whenever I found a proper informant.
