Katalin Gulyás: Civil home - civil way of life at the turn of the century

The purple bottle and glass (approx. 1860's), the gold coloured bifold (powder-blue and milk-glass) scent-bottle (1860's), the decanter and the red dyed and etched memorial glass (middle 19 th century) are distinctive examples of the 19' century Czech glass industry. The large-sized milk-glass ciborium with its gilded snakes is an early piece: it was made around 1800 in classic style. The press-forged colourless candlesticks in the dresser, the butter-dish in the show-glass, the laurel coloured and colourless vases and glasses were produced in the early 1900's. The wineglasses with green feet belonging to the tableware of the dining table are the products of a Hungarian glass factory from the turn of the century. So is the apple-green blown hand-wash bowl in the glass cabinet, which was in use in the civil society during meals. The blown ungula shaped green vase adorned with geometric chequered patterns was made in Orrefors, Sweden. The set of dyed and silvered silvered stoup and glasses is of unknown provenance. The representative ornaments of secession appear on the inwrought alfenide holder of the colourless glass sweet bowl. 48
