TORBÁGYI MELINDA - F. KOVÁCS PÉTER: KELTA ÉRMEK ÉS EGYÉB LA TÈNE-KORI LELETEK JÁSZJÁKÓHALMA KÖRNYÉKÉRŐL Melinda Torbágyi - Péter F. Kovács Celtic Coins and Other La Tène Age Finds from the Vicinity of Jászjákóhalma Jászjákóhalma village is situated at the edge of the northern Jászság, a sub-region of the Middle-Tisza-region. This fertile area is located on the southern part of the Northern Great Hungarian Plain Alluvian fan (Északalföldi-hordalékkúpsíkság), in a key position which can be regarded as a transitory zone of the forefront of the North Hungarian Mountains and the Great Hungarian Plain. This particular geographical setting places the micro region of Jászjákóhalma right into the eastern expanse of the La Tène culture. During the last decades of the 4th century BC, the La Tène culture rapidly expanded from west to east accross the forefront of the North Hungarian Mountains, which can be clearly seen through a series of wellknown cemeteries. On the southern limit of this movement some other smaller cemeteries can be detected, such as Jászberény-Cserőhalom, Jászberény-Hajtai halom, Jászberény Öregerdő. It is important to note that Jászjákóhalma perfectly fits into this chain of sites, which might explain the remarkable number of the archaeological finds. It is very reasonable to assume that the vicinity of Jászjákóhalma might have played an important role in the expansion/movement of La Tène culture. For this reason the paper aimed to collect all the archaeological data from the area. Moreover, the following study not only presents results of the investigation on archive files in the Archaeological Department of Damjanich János Museum, but also describes the finds from the collection of the Jász Múzeum (Jászberény), Damjanich János Múzeum (Szolnok) and Horváth Péter Helytörténeti Gyűjtemény (Jászjákóhalma). Accordingly, a number of previously unpublished items has been collected, such as four swords, a knife, an umbo, a pot and two brooches. More recent finds are the coins found during metal detecting. One of them can be interpreted as an Audoleon type tetradrachm. The second one is only a small piece, probably tetradrachm, and the third one is an unexpected type, an imitation of a Campaninan Cales type coin. Summarizing the results, the vicinity of Jászjákóhalma most likely can be connected to the LT B2-C1 La Tène expansion, while the Campaninan imitation coin being the youngest object is dated to LT C2. The high number of the finds presuppose the existence of one larger or more smaller Celtic graveyards. 55
