TISICUM XXIII. - A VALLÁSTUDOMÁNYI KONFERENCIA ELŐADÁSAI Gábor Dániel Nagy Approaches based on social networks in the field of religious studies This paper attempts to analyse social communities and religion in accordance with researches carried out in Middle-Eastern Europe. The articles published in the given geographical region are thoroughly overviewed here. The aim was to find examples of theories and methods related to the application of the analysis of social communities for researchers of religious studies. The individual papers were selected based on the studies of the various aspects of fields of religion and the theory of social networks and the methods of application of social relation networking. The author tries to exclude the subject of social capital and religions, and to concentrate on articles that are connected to the theme of social communities. He attempts to clarify the notion of relation between social capital and communities in order to verify the circle of the selected articles. The results are based an analysis that showed that the relations of social actors have been represented theoretically in the papers, and various provisions have been introduced in order to map these relations. Most papers overview are based on empiric methods and apply for different characteristics of social communities. 360
