Settlement-ethnography of Country-Town Jászapátt in the 18th-19th Centuries

LÁSZLÓ NOVAK SETTLEMENT-ETHNOGRAPHY OF COUNTRY-TOWN JÁSZAPÁTI IN THE I8th-I9th CENTURIES Settlement of Jászapáti oontents two deserted territor iea (puszta=pr aedium): Hevesivány (hear) and Kocsér (f ar, beiween Danube and Tisza). Jazigian peasants - after Redemptiv (1745) - could have got fields the inter bordér of Jászapáti, and in the Hevesivány, Kocsér pustas. Settlement-system had been determinated by agricultural arganiaation. In the second half of ISth century agricultural -systam had baen determinated by 3 calcaturas. Bordér of Jászapáti had been in 2 calcaturas, the 3th calcatura was in Hevesivány. The calcatura-system was not free from agricultural-organísation, therefore the farms had been only in Heveaiványo This i.s apeciality in settlement-system of Jászapáti. In the f ir s t half of the 19 th century peasant-hold ing had been united, and r eformed: developed the homogeneous farm holding system, farm agricutture, and farm settlement-system. 101
