researches would be fruitful at the top and on the margin of a dune called Táborhegy, marked alsó by a (height)-point. The excavation was carried out together with Róbert Kertósz's excavation of a Mesolithic locality. My co-worker was Éva Csongrádl-Balogh (archeologist of the Petőfi Museum, Aszód). We got financial support from the — Cipőipari Vállalat (Jászberény, József Kárpáti, director) — Fecske Kisszövetkezet (Budapest, Dr.Ferenc Lengyel, director). Here, too, I should üke to express my many thanks for their generosity. Settlement phenomena At Jászfelsőszentgyörgy-Szunyogos we excavated an area of 50 rr? extension. According our experiences during the excavation the continuation of the culture layer is expected to the NE of the place of the present excavated area, in the angie of the L-shaped section (Fig.2). We found scattered finds at the bottom of the humus layer rich in recent plánt remains, at the bordér of the loess. The average thickness of the humus layer is 30 cm, it is intensively destroyed by agriculture. These finds did not belong to the culture layer. In the area excavated so far we could not attest a direct superposition of the two levels with finds. This phenomenon is known alsó from Pilismarót-Tetves tető, where — at the top of Ice Age sediment, — on the basis of the chronological position of the culture layer, being at a 80-100 cm's depth below it, therefore suggesting a Latest Ice Age determination for the upper layer, — while we are unable to put it intő any defined levél — we observed a levél with lithic implements but without accessory finds ^ excavated surface rs3 supposed extension 45
