Ákos Uherkovics–Sára Nógrádi: Further studies on caddisfly (Trichoptera) fauna of the Northern Mountains, Hungary
Some species have already been collected only in one region of this area within Hungary (these ones are marked in the Table I. by an asterisk). Bulk of these species (Drusus trifidus McL., Melampophylax nepos McL., Polyccntropus schmidi Novak & Bots., Beraemia hrabei Mayer, Ecclisopteryx dalecarlica Kol., Annitella obscurata McL.) have a clear mountainous character. Some of them have a widely distribution area in the surrounding mountainous regions. The area of others - Beraemyia hrabei Mayer and Polyccntropus schmidi Novak & Bots. - are not wide. An other species - Paroecetis strucki Klap. - has only a relative old field data (and voucher specimens, too) from the Gödöllő Downs, but it was not collected since the 40's. Several other species are widely distributed in the Northern Mountains, but they do not occur in any other mountainous regions of Hungary. (E. g. Rhyacopila polonica McL., Synagapetus armatus McL., Synagapetus iridipennis McL., Drusus annulatus Steph., Drusus biguttatus Pict., Stenophylax vibex Curt. etc.). A large group of species can be found in every mountainous habitat of Hungary: e. g. Parachiona picicomis McL., some Rhyacophila species, Ecclisopteryx madida McL., Halesus digitatus Schrk., Philopotamus montanus Don., Philopotamus variegatus Scop., Wormaldia occipitalis Pict., Oecismus monedula Hag. The member of the fourth group were collected only in a few sites, they are generally abundant. Some of these species usually has very low density in their habitats, e. g. Rhyacophila dorsalis Curt., Agapetus dclicatulus McL., Agraylea multipunctata Curt., Chewnatopsyche lepida Pict., Limnephilus nigriceps Zett., Limnephilus tauricus Schmid, Phacopteryx brevipennis Curt., Silo piceus Brau., Lasiocephala basalis Kol. These species need special ecological conditions, e. g. somewhat basic and unpolluted water course or marsh. Detailed characterization of the fauna can be found in the paper of Nógrádi et al. (1994). It is planned that another paper on the fauna of the Aggtelek National Park and its surroundings will be published with further informations on this topic. 93
