winter of 2014. We uncovered an area of about 75,462 square metres. Stone chips and fossilized bone material was spread over an area of about 60 m x 20 m. At the site we opened up eight long excavation areas, otherwise known as investigation trenches of various sizes. It was in area number 5 that a 54 cm tibia belonging to a mammoth came to light. The majority of the finds were found under a humus-rich layer lying at a depth of 25-30 cm on the edge of the loess sediment.
