d January 2008, the Day of Hungarian Culture, marked the beginning of Renaissance Year in Hungary. It was within the spirit of this enterprise that the Ministry of Education and Culture launched the "Renaissance Tours" project. The ministry's aim was for schoolchildren throughout the country to get the chance to discover Hungary's renaissance heritage and to benefit from visits to museums aided by imaginative pedagogical activities put on by the museums themselves. The István Dobó Museum also participated in this initiative. The activities we put on featured the Renaissance period as seen from a number of perspectives. A questionnaire was also drawn up for the "Renaissance Tours" programme, offering people the chance to say what they thought about the teaching staff and the quality of the services on offer. Nothing better proves the success of the museum activities than the fact the István Dobó Castle Museum had more school groups than any other provincial museum. 431
