B. Pap Györgyi: A gyűjteménygyarapítás formái és eredményei a Dobó István Vármúzeum elmúlt 50 évében

el tudjuk látni, szükség van a műtárgyak védelmét ellátó restaurátorokra, a szakkönyvtárra, a kiállítások rendezőire, a gyűjtemények kezelőire - vagyis a tárgyak forrásértékének megőrzőire - a múzeum összes dolgozójára, munkatársára. Közös tehát a feladatunk, közös a hivatásunk. A feladatot az ötven év folyamán az itt dolgozó kollégáink igazi hivatástudattal végezték. A gyűjtemények további szakszerű gyarapítása, kutatása, állagának védelme, bemutatása, megőrzése új lehetőségekkel, új kihívásokkal, megújult szemlélettel most a mi feladatunk. Közös a cél, megőrizni a múzeum alapját, a gyűjteményt, valamint cél még a gyarapodás, a gyarapodás pedig tudjuk, eredmény. Györgyi B. Pap Collecting Activities: Its Means and Ends Half a Century of the István Dobó Castle Museum One of the museum's most important tasks is to preserve the historical memory, and assemble artefacts of national and microhistorical interest. This is an aim that is loaded with responsibilities, as the work involved - in our case the collection of artefacts - will influence the way people in future generations look at the age in which we are currently living. So how has the István Dobó Castle Museum, founded in 1958, gone about carrying out this task? The core of the museum collections was inherited from the archaeological, ethnographical, fine arts and applied arts collections of our legal predecessors, as well as a number of libraries. It was only in the following decade, in 1967 to be exact, that the literary history collection was created, followed in 1973 by the setting up of the historical collection. There are obviously considerable differences in the way the individual collections have evolved and developed. During the course of the fifty years each of the collections has grown under the watchful supervision of the museologists responsible, with the result that they have become significant and valuable collections. It is our intention to increase the size of the collections in a considered and professional manner, undertaking research, keeping the objects in a good state of preservation, putting them on display, while taking advantage of any new opportunities and challenges that may arise, as well as offering ever greater insights. 325
