B. Gál Edit: Adatok Orczy Lőrinc életéhez a források tükrében
of 1789, it is either Tarnaörs or Újszász that is his stated places of burial. In 1756 the baron decided that in the case of his death the town house that he had inherited from his father in the town's main square should be converted into an orphanage for the upbringing of twelve noble youths. Comparing the two wills one gains an insight into the extent to which the aristocrat had increased his wealth, and how the subsequent family centres had started to emerge. The image we have of him is that summarized by Basil Alexovics in his eulogy based on Orczy's autobiography. The three sources, together with the registration records, help us to get a better understanding of Lőrinc Orczy's life, and his relationship with Gyöngyös in particular. 204
