Szulovszky János: Kéményseprők – képeslapokon

group of postcards - namely those on which a chimney sweep is represented. To this end I refer mainly to the collection at the Zemplén Museum. Owing to the popularity of this type of New Year's card we will, however, only have time to focus on a few examples. Of the more than four hundred different postcards on this theme with which I am personally familiar, the Hungarian examples tend to be larger than the Eloy type, thus allowing for a larger and a richer image. The golden age of the chimney sweep postcard was in the period immediately before 1914 (although there were also a reasonable number in the interwar period), most of which were related to the New Year in some way. 680
