Földi Viktória: Vizuális és kommunikatív emlékezet. Egy erdész életútja a családi fotókon keresztül
Viktória Földi Visual and Communicative Memory: A Woodman's Career in Family Photographs Pál Telek is a local woodman of some repute. As his family photographs are mainly conversation pieces, some of the great turning points in his life are left unrepresented. Nevertheless, as a visual resource their importance lies not in the postures of those who are immortalised in the pictures, but in the community values they represent. The serial images of Pál Telek and his trophies are not merely a record of his success in hunting animals, but a testimony of what life in general was like for men like himself. He has spent his whole life in the woods, and knows nature's laws. It is this knowledge that has been immortalised in these family photographs. In conversation it became evident that a successful hunt was the result of many years' work. Were it not for Pál Telek's memories and his power of recall, the material evidence contained in these hunting photographs would have been denied their lifeblood. 461
