Füvessy Anikó: Csontos nyergeinkről

Bone saddles were among the most expensive of this particular object type, although saddles could also be found with carved wooden elements. The buyers of such artefacts would have been interested in mythology, and some craftsmen were capable of producing saddles in certain historical styles. We know from surviving market price lists that bone saddles were made up until the beginning of the 19 th century. They may have been made at any number of places, although the precise locations are never likely to be known. 188
