Beszprémy Katalin: Iskolai és iskolán kívüli képzések a népi kézművesség területén

Katalin Beszprémi The Teaching of Folk Handicrafts Within the State Education System and Without Since the foundation of the Folk Art Institute {Népművészeti Intézet), the legal predecessor of the Folk Cultural Institute {Népművelési Intézet), training programmes as well as professional and methodological advice has been available to the country's folk art movements. The teaching of weaving and woodcarving on an organised basis started at the beginning of the 1970s. On the initiative of the Young Folk Artists Studio special activities suitable for children were started at their playgroup. While the early training programmes took place at the Budapest Arts Centre, from the 1980s introductory training courses including practical arts and crafts elements were put on specially for those interested in running folk-oriented playgroups. From 1990 folk handicrafts were taught at the special schools established for that purpose throughout the country. The folk games and handicrafts teacher-training is made up of three elements: folk playgroup leader training, training in one of the folk handicrafts, and teacher-training. In recent years Traditions House {Hagyományok Háza) has aided the teaching of the various folk handicrafts by producing professional materials and CD-ROMs. 476
