Mr. János Dancza : "The Internationalists of County Heves in the Great October Revolution", in printing for vol. VI. of the Museum Yearbook. Of the manifold popular educational activities of the County Organization we emphasize here the organization of exhibitions, presentations and lectures. Headed by Mr. Kovács and with the expert assistance of Miss Nóra Pâmer, the collective of the Museum of Eger have arranged a minor exhibition of local history at the gate tower of Kisnána Castle. In the expropriated peasant house at the castle entrance Mr. Kecskés and Miss Kapros arranged in the manner of an interior various pieces of ethnographic interest such as furniture, pottery and household implements. The Kisnána unit was opened on August 4. The staff of the Museum of Eger arranged a temporary exhibition at Szilvásvárad on the occasion of the Equestrian Days by using the private collection of Mr. Gyula Gál, a local teacher, entitling the exhibition "Folk Art of the Barkó". Mr. János Szabó gave principled guidance for the arrangement of the cabinets (small exhibitions of educational purpose) of Tarnaörs and Gyöngyös. The activities of the Mátra Museum for arranging exhibitions were aimed mainly at collecting the material for the envisaged permanent exhibition and at the co-ordination of the work of organizing bodies and persons. Several travelling exhibitions arranged temporarily and centrally were shown in addition; "The Men of Gyöngyös 1918-1919" a memorial exhibition; "Stamps and Documents, Display in Memóriám of the Autumn Revolution"; "Historical Ages", a cabinet exhibition: "Local History Exhibition at Szűcsi village"; "French Drawings"; "Fine Arts of Mongolia". In 1968 the exhibitions of the County Museum Organization were visited by 370 326 people. The share of Eger within the total was 333 617, of Gyöngyös 16 546, of the Kisnána Castle Museum 3,978, of Párád 15 510, of Verpelét 675. Visitors' statistics of the Eger Museum show that in 1968 44,6 per cent of the visitors were adults, 41,3 per cent were students, and 14,1 per cent were admitted free of charge. The ratio of Hungarian and foreign visitors is difficult to decide within the total, but the estimate is that visitors from abroad usually represented 10 per cent. During 1968 the Museum of Eger was visited by a number of Hungarian and other delegations and experts. The most important of these events was the visit by Mr. János Kádár, first secretary of the Hungarian Socialists Workers' Party, and his suite on 24 th of April. Í5
