FÜLÖP ANDRÁS - KOPPÁNY ANDRÁS Zsiray Lajos 1984 A vázsonykői végvár története. Tanulmányok Veszprém Megye Múltjából. A Veszprém Megyei Levéltár Kiadványai 3. Veszprém, 241 -277. András Koppány - András Fülöp THE LATEST CHAPTER IN THE RESEARCH HISTORY OF NAGYVÁZSONY CASTLE - REPORT ON THE EXPLORATION OF THE WALLS The heritage development programme, entitled National Palace and Castle Programme, also included the restoration of the Nagyvázsony Castle (formerly known as Kinizsi Castle). During the architectural design phase (architect: Tamás Albert, landscape architect and garden design: Anita Szabadics, curator: Gergely Búzás) several questions had to be answered by using the method ofwall explorations, since these were not investigated during the previous restoration in the late 1950s. Excavations at the time, led by István Éri, provided numerous interesting artefacts and information, to which more data were added during subsequent digs (by András Koppány and more recently by Ádám Pátkai). The systematic exploration of the walls of the keep was not possible until now. The latest excavation focused on two facades of the keep. This lecture sets out to describe the results, while researchers also try to put the interpretation of the wall ruins, restored in the 1950s and thus no longer available for research, into a new context, based on archive photos.
