New data on the Snail Fauna Around Sopron and in the Fertő Region The vicinity of Sopron is one of the less known territories of Hungary from malacological view. The author endevaured to fill this gap with his research between 1980 and 1982. The present study publishes the provenance and the biotope data of 78 snail species. Respective conclusions on the ecological and the cenological circumstances of the area seem to be justified only following the total elaboration, not finished as yet, of the data of the quantitative collections according to biotopes.
