possible series. The elaboration of a part the slugs was carried out by A. Wiktor, dr. prof. (Wroclaw) in 1982. The so called cenological material is kept in a separate chest. Here we had to disregard the taxonomical order. We have separated the material of the different phytocenoses, all consisting of 10—10 samples (snail shells gathered from a soil block of 25X25 cm ground floor, 5 cm under the surface). Thus it is provided that the sample series could be examined from various respects. A special register system had to be developped in order that the material could be used for taxonomical and zoogeographical research as well. Pál Bugát (1793—1865), physician born in Gyöngyös, the member of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences, was one of the most active leading personalities of the Hungarian natural scientific life during the Reform Age. The museum purchased his marine snail and shell collection of 83 pieces from Szécsény (Mrs Imre Lukhovitz) in 1969 (Molnár 1972—73). This material of science historical importance is kept apart from the basic collection. Típusanyag— Typematerial angelovi L. Pintér, 1968 Belgrandiella angelovi, L. Pintér (1968): Arch.
