Vezető a Déri Múzeum kiállításaihoz (Debrecen, 1978)

I ton. Museum Déri guards one of his interesting, early oil-paintings „Fisher of Lake Balaton". Róbert Berény, Jenő Barcsay, Vladimir Szabó, Frigyes Frank represent expressionist, constructive endeavours. Frigyes Frank's „Still life with red coffee-grinder" being on the wall of our museum in the most beautiful piece in the Frank collection, and at the same time is one of the painter's masterpieces, too. The material of paintings are complete with medals, plague and statue collection (Fülöp Beck ö., Sándor Mikus, József Reményi, István Iván, Fe­renc Csúcs, István Szentgyörgyi, János Pásztor, Barna Megyei, Iván Szabó, etc.). From the exhibited illustrations stand out Gyula Derkovit's, Lajos Varga's Nándor, Endre Vadász's, Vilmos Aba's Nóvák, István Szőnyi's etc etching, from woodcuts Gyula Derkovits's Dózsa cuts titled „1514", Kálmán Gábor­jáni's Szabó, József Menyhárt's pieces. The aquarelles, drawings are from Tibor Boromissza, György Kohán, Lász­ló Holló, Géza Boross and Tibor Bakoss. Ferenc Medgyessy being one of very effective masters of modern Hunga­rian plastic art was born in Debrecen. For this reason Déri museum enshrines his lifework. His legacy consisting of 3000 peaces is example for crea­ting harmony of tradition and modern. For this reason his four symbolic bronze statues standing at Déri square got Grand Prix in Párizs world exhi­bition in 1937. A part of statues and drawings exhibited in museum are plastic- and gra­phic antecendentses of his public-square statues, the other ones are self­dependent small sculptures. The most significants are: „Dancer", „Little rider", „Cleaning women", „Nursing mother", plans for tombs, plans for Hunyadi's and St. István's equestrian statues, etc. 429
