KÖLCSEY FERENC UTOLSÓ DEBRECENI LAKHELYE 157 A Lenin-szobor öt méter mély, vasbeton talapzatát, amit még a régi művelődési központ bontásakor sem tudtak elbontani, mert annyira masszívan állt, és óriási költség lett volna elbontani, illetve kibányászni a földből. Ezért úgy döntöttek, hogy nem elbontják, hanem felé parkot építenek. így jött létre a „virágóra", mely tulajdonképpen egy napóra. All that remains from the house are the memorial plague that was once mounted on the wall and a window frame, both of these now preserved as cultural relics in the Town Hall. The study touches upon the ties its former resident, who was later to become a celebrated poet, had with Debrecen as well as hitherto unknown details that came to light during the research about them. New findings include which room belonged to the former student, why he stayed there several times after he stayed in Debrecen after moving away from here, and how this house remained standing until the early seventies even though its demolition had already been advocated at the beginning of the 20th century.
