In a discussion published in the Austrian History Yearbook Volume XXXI, the Slovak historian DuSan Kováö points out that there can be no Just" national borders in Central Europe with its multi-ethnic population and suggests: „the solution for the future may involve a weakening of the significance of borders. This is, in fact, one of the most substantial arguments for European integration in the area." 263
