Természettudomány - Marcsik Antónia: Antropological Elaboration of the Püspökladány Series of the Sarmatian Age

Antónia Marcsik ANTHROPOLOGICAL ELABORATION OF THE PÜSPÖKLADÁNY SERIES OF THE SARMATIAN AGE The anthropological material of the Püspökladány-Görepart series dating from the Sarmatian age is utmost fragmentary. The person buried in the grave Nr. 4 is conserved in a comparatively better condition (a tall man, according to his crane: brachycephalic tpye). With additional morphological characteristics taken into consideration, the type might be identified as crC. A rather significant occurrence of the crC or Andronovo type may be expected in the Sarmatian series of the Lower Wolga region and Western Kazakhstan. The Püspökladány individuals are unfit for far-reaching conclussions to be drawn, but - together with the equally conserved material of the Sarmatian Roxolane inhumation of Madaras-halmok - they nevertheless suggest the anorganic ingredients of the bones to be studied since these might have affected the conservation state of the bones. 198
