FROM THE 10-11TH CENTURIES - A RESEARCH HISTORY

This brief paper presents the excavation history of the cemetery of Rusovec/Oroszvár situated in the present-day Slovakia starting from the first excavation in 1890, through the later researches of 1903 and 1938, to the excavations of Bottyán Árpád and Nemeskéri János in 1942-43. It also covers the possibilities of the scientific research of the cemetery and reviews its echoes in the contemporary archaeological literature.
