ARRABONA 2008. 46/1. TANULMÁNYOK “QUOMODO BEATA VIRGO MEDICAT IPSUM” This paper looks into the questions of the representation of the St. Ladislas legend cycle. First, it analyses the beginning of the mural representation, i.e. the process of aligning the pictures into a series and the reasons of why a secular story could have been introduced into the sacred space. Next, it aims to identify the literary and visual preliminaries of the composition of the miraculous recovery of the saint immediately before the Battle of Kerlés from among the series of pictures representing St. Ladislas of the Hungarian Anjou Legendary (Rome, Biblioteca Apostolica Vaticana, Vat. Lat. 8541), which was last discussed by Lukics Pál in 1930, thus trying to find an answer for the motives of its having been painted. „QUOMODO BEATA VIRGO MEDICAT IPSUM” Der Vortrag befasst sich mit den Fragen der zyklischen Darstellung der Ladislaus-Legende. Als Einführung werden der Beginn der Darstellung in Form von Wandbildern, die Probleme des Prozesses der Anordnung zu einer Bildreihe, sowie die Gründe für die Raumgewinnung der profanen Geschichte innerhalb des sakralen Raumes analysiert. Daran anschließend sucht die Studie die literarische und bildliche Vorgeschichte - und mit Hilfe dessen die Erklärung auch zu deren bildlicher Darstellung - der die wunderbare Heilung des Heiligen darstellenden Komposition, unter den der Schlacht von Lyrieleis (Chirale?, ung.: Kerlés, d.Ü.) vorausgehenden Szenen der Bildreihen des Hl. Ladislaus im Ungarischen Anjou Legendárium (Rom, Biblioteca Apostolica Vaticana, Vat. Lat. 8541), die als letzte von PálLukcsics im Jahre 1930 berührt wurden. 428
