TANULMÁNYOK ON THE MELODIES OF THE SAINT LADISLAS FOLK SONGS This study is looking for melodies for the lyrics of the Saint Ladislas folk songs from the 17-19* centuries which were discovered by Erdélyi Zsuzsanna and Megyesy-Schmikli Norbert in the last one and a half years and which are published here. The possibility which follows from both the ad notam practice and the song-books with scores is that the scores are written to only one of the lyrics versions to be sung with the same melody and the actual lyrics vary by song-books. This is the reason why there are lyrics under the published scores which are not about King Saint Ladislas nor are they scores given to these texts by the different song-books. The other possibility lies in the folk musical collections of the 20th century but here it is the lyrics of the Saint Ladislas folk-songs which are missing. A part of the scored melodies of the Baroque songs appears in the folk collections but always with different lyrics. This is why this study does not publish folk song records. Based on the above mentioned principles this study brings forward 19 scores according to the first two editions of the Cantus Catholici (1651 and 1674), the Lyra Coelestis of Náray (1695), the Deák-Szentes Manuscript (1774) the Song-book of Bozók (1797) the Sursum Corda (1912) and the 2nd and 3rd editions ofthe Song-book of Tárkányi.Zsasskovszky (1874,1929). DIE MELODIEN DER VOLKSGESÄNGE ÜBER DEN HEILIGEN LADISLAUS In unserer Studie waren wir auf der Suche nach den Melodien zu den Texten der von Zsuzsanna Erdélyi und Norbert Medgyesy-Schmikli in den vergangenen eineinhalb Jahren entdeckten, und in diesem Band veröffentlichten Volksgesänge über den Hl. Ladislaus aus dem XVII-XIX. Jahrhundert. Die sich aus der Praxis des ad notam sowie den Eigenheiten der Gesangsbücher in Notenschrift ergebende Möglichkeit: die handschriftlichen und auch die gedruckten Gesangsbücher befolgen gleichermaßen das Prinzip, wonach von den auf eine Melodie zu singenden Texten generell nur zu einem die Noten geschrieben werden - und hierbei ist es von Buch zu Buch verschieden, zu welchem speziellen Text. Aus diesem Grund befinden sich in unserer Studie auch solche Texte zwischen den veröffentlichten Noten, die nicht von unserem König Ladislaus handeln, jedoch auch nicht die zu diesen Texten der verschiedenen Gesangbücher gegebenen Notensignaturen sind. Die andere Möglichkeit verbirgt sich in den Sammlungen der Volksmusik des XX. Jahrhunderts, hier allerdings sind die Texte der Volksgesänge über den Hl. Ladislaus nicht auffindbar. Ein Teil der markierten barocken Liedtexte kommt zwar in den volkstümlichen Sammlungen vor, jedoch stets mit anderem Text. Darum führen wir hier keine Volksmusik- Abschriften an. In unserer Studie werden von uns nach den erwähnten Prinzipien insgesamt 19 Notenschriften veröffentlicht, gemäß den ersten zwei Ausgaben der Cantus Catholici (1651 und 1674), der Lyra Coelestis nach Náray (1695), des Deák-Szentes Manuskripts (1774), des Bozöki-Gesangsbuchs (1797), der Sursum Corda! (1912) und der 2. und 3. Ausgabe des Gesangsbuches nach Tárkányi-Zsasskovszky (1874,1929). 266
