Tanulmányok - Szőnyi Eszter: Mursella municipium 15 éves régészeti feltárásának eredményei
ARRABONA40.2002. TANULMÁNYOK still used in the western extension during the period of the Constantine dynasty. Its walls in the southern-east part were demolished earlier, later diggings and wells destroyed them. Stone building I in the northern estate was built later than the former one, its form is also different. At least three periods of construction could be identified . The rectangular building of the first phase was followed by a building of five rooms with solid foundations and with a portico probably of a storey, which was completed with an eastern apse-part. This building could be in use at the end of the 3 r century, and it was still functioning at the end of the Roman Empire. The second part of the paper summarises the evaluation of the coins found during the excavations and the findings that can be attached to different cults. Finally, the paper makes an attempt to dissolve the idea of the mid-1950s, which tries to list Mursella among the fortified settlements of the late antiquity. In the light of the above evidences, Mursella was a settlement along an early road at a ford spontaneously formed in the I s century. It became a town with the rank of a municipium in the 2 n century and existed until the end of the 4* century or probably until the beginning of the 5 century in Pannónia. 0 5 cm Consp. 26 típusú sig. csésze a fazekasperiódus rétegei alól. 71
