Tanulmányok - Pusztai Rezső: Római-kori településmaradvány, villa rustica kutatása Mosonszentpéter község keleti határában, a Kecske-földeken

ARRABONA 39. 2001. TANULMÁNYOK Pusztai Rezső: Research of a Roman settlement remain, villa rustica at the Kecske fields of Mosonszentpéter (Jánossomorja) The Hansági Museum of Mosonmagyaróvár carried out research excavations in a rather dilapidated Roman settlement in the Eastern confines of the community in 1969 and 1970. On the area estimated about 150mxl50m, a larger 20-25 m long and several smaller buildings were assumed based on the overground fragments of buildings. On the basis of these traces a smaller, separated bathing house with hypocaustum (N° I) and a 15 meter long and 10 meter wide building was explored with bathing channel, two rooms, a patio and a pantry (N° II). Both buildings were built at the end of the third or the beginning of the fourth century after the devastations caused by the Sarmatian-quad war in 260. A large 30 m long and 22 m wide structure belongs to the earliest level of the settlements, which could have served as the fence of the garden or yard of a larger villa. It could have been destroyed with the attached building in the ominous year of 260. 34
