Summary

CSISZÁR Attila: Building process of a farmer family of Kapuvár in 1 928 The 20th century changes in folk architecture, the shrinking difference of building operations between town and village are considered to be neglected areas of Hungarian ethnography. Its examination is urgent since the state characterizing the first part of the century is about to dissapear. In the 1900's there were still some old 19th century styled houses in the villages and country-towns of Kisalföld but wealthy farmers started to have new houses built which - on the base of bourgeois taste - were different from traditional houses in ground plan, size and decoration. Conclusively there were also some changes in flat and house usage. The introduction of the 1928 construction process of a well-off farmer family from Kapuvár can come up with new details to understand integration processes. The study fits into the examination of the building industry of Garta, an important bricklayer centre. TÓTH Katalin: Restoration of the Hansági Museum's engravings from the 16-18. centuries The study discusses description of segments of the Hanság Museum, Mosonmagyaróvár, their analysation of state before restoration, segment damaging factors, restoration processes, applied methods, handling appliances and materials. It also makes suggestions about how exhibition circumstances could be set. TURY Mária: Restoration of two portraits of J. M. Millitz A few pictures of the remaining ancient gallery of the Cziráky Castle in Dénesfa were restored in the last years. There were also two paintings of Johann Michael Millitz among the pictures. The painting technique of the half-lenght portraits from 1 773 was the same as that of the noble portraits. The two figures painted in expensive magnificient suits in front of the neutral background decorated with half-way pulled apart curtains were Barkóczy Borbála and her son Cziráky László. She was sitting on a sofa next to a small grey marble table and her son was standing next to her. The poor condition of the paintings made their full preservation and restoration necessary. Before conserving some samples were taken from the pictures and were examined by microscope for their medium and layerstructure. The samples also went through a diffractional X-ray examination. Providing the necessary conditions for these works in the Central Museum of the County it was essential to have appropriate financial background and connections with national museums and scientific organizations. The results of the experiment not only made the work of a picture-restorer more effective but they also made it possible to compare painting techniques of different masters and to analyse the materials they had used.
