that particular population proved to be in excellent agreement with the results of the metric-morphological face-profile analyses. And, in addition to this, it was successful — and archaeologically correct — in cases where the former methods failed, e. g. for bone fragments and children. Then the author sets forth some of his observations on the general biological status of the population. Finally, the author describes an apparently successful experiment — carried out together with Gyula László who was the leader of the excavation — to establish the ethnical relations of the anthropological and archaeological observations concerning the contemporary population of Bágyogszovát.
