I Szőke Béla * * * TEXTES ÉCRITS À L'ÉPOQUE NAPOLÉONIENNE SUR LES MURS DE L'ÉDIFICE DU MUSÉE DE GYÖR Lorsque, en 1809, les troupes de Napoléon ont tenu occupées la ville et la forteresse de Győr, le gouverneur Narbonne, ainsi que les officiers supérieurs Lauriston et le baron d'Hennin habitèrent à Győr dans le palais du grand abbé des Bénédictins de Pannonhalma. Sur les murs en faux-marbre de la salle à manger et de la salle de réception du palais furent peints des textes servant de propagande. Ces textes ont été mis à découverte sous la couche de couleur qui les recouvrait, en 1950, lors de la restauration de la salle. Les textes écrits en langues française et italienne sont pour la plupart confus et déformés. | B. Szőke | * * * WALL INSCRIPTIONS IN THE BUILDING OF THE GYÖR MUSEUM FROM THE AGE OF NAPOLEON In 1809, the castle and the city of Győr being occupied by the armies of Napoleon, the governor Narbonne and two officers of high rank, Lauriston and the baronet D'Hénin were quartered in the palace of the Benedictine abbot of Pannonhalma at Győr, in the building of the Győr Museum in our days. They had painted some propagandists texts on the imitation marble walls of the dining, room, and reception chamber of the building. During the restoration of the room in 1950, the inscriptions were Ibrought to light from under the layer of paint covering them.
