Tanulmányok – Abhandlungen - Harsányi Eszter–Kurovszky Zsófia: Theoretical reconstruction of a room from the 3rd century A.D., excavated in Tác/Gorsium, based on information gathered during the excavation and the restoring process of the wall-painting fragments (Preliinary report). p. 35–42.
Plate VI., Fig. 16. The upper left corner of the red field located on the southern end of the western wall. Above it the yellow stripe with the white border and the stucco-cornice imitation, as well as detail of the red stripe framing the ceiling composition from the lunette side. The fragment has arching surface; on its left side the perpendicular forward bending of the plaster can be observed. (Photo by the authors) Plate VII., Fig. 17. On the right side of the candelabra panel with sedge the framing yellow stripe with white border can be seen. On its left side the plaster bends curved back from the surface of the wall, on its right side it bends forward perpendicular. The wall-painting depicts the simple appearance of sedge plant without any decoration. As from ground level, the plant grows from the bottom frame of the field. (Photo by the authors) Plate VII., Fig. 18. Candelabra panel with "pomegranate". In the method of depiction of the tree with fruits the purpose of decoration appears. The painted version of the real plant became a bit more symmetric and decorative compared to its pre-figuration. The plant stands on feet characteristic for candelabras, even if on leaf feet, which are obviously not the sign of making an effort to depict reality. (Photo by the authors) Plate VII., Fig. 19. On the detail decorated with stylised flower motifs composed mostly of the colour of mauve, two leaves start from the circle of acanthuses down, which then bend back in two directions. On the upper one of the stems ending in a bud is visible. (Photo by the authors) Plate VIII., Fig. 20. The watercolour reconstruction of the adjoining of the eastern wall and the ceiling shows the north-eastern corner of the ceiling, with the figure of the personification of Summer. With the help of the already restored surfaces and the fragments not assembled yet, the distance, size, shape and colour of each motif may be authentically depicted. (Graphics by E. Harsányi) Plate VIII., Fig. 21. Arching fragment, part of the ceiling. On its left side detail of the red stripe framing the ceiling towards the lunette, on its right side detail of a Season personification's medallion can be seen. (Photo by the authors) Plate VIII., Fig. 22. Fragmented surface of the half-portrait of the personification of Summer, painted in the north-eastern corner of the ceiling. On the two sides of the face there is a hanging motif painted in black, probably the ribbon fixing the wreath made of wheatear and green leaves. The medallion made of the red and the green stripes shows well on the assembled surface, on the outer side of which a light black line runs along. Unfortunately, only the pale traces of the black and red centre of the flowers can be seen from the small flower motifs on the outer frame. (Photo by the authors) Plate VIII., Fig. 23. Fragmented surface of the half-length portrait of the personification of Spring, painted in the northwest corner of the ceiling. (Photo by the authors) Plate VIII., Fig. 24. Detail of the circle of the medallion decorating the centre of the ceiling, with a wreath motif along its inner side. On the outer side of the red stripe the red and black centre of the flower motif and traces of the black line framing the medallion can be seen. (Photo by the authors) Plate VIII., Fig. 25. Fragmented surface of the female figure wearing a blue wrap located in the central medallion of the ceiling. (Photo by the authors) Plate VIII., Fig. 26. Detail of the ornament based on lines of circles crossing each other, filling the space between the medallions of the ceiling composition. (Photo by the authors)
