Jug, found in the urn, among the burnt human bones. Bronze jewels, found in the suspension vessel. a) Bronze dagger (PI. I no. 7); b) 12 small spiral tubes (PI. I nos 8 to 14); c) 2 fragments of plates; d) 6 tiny tubes of plate (PI. I nos 15—20). Group V. (Fig. 4.) Grave 18. — (Inv. no. 62.18.1-3.) Rite: urn-crema­tion. Depth: 72 cm. The shape of the grave-pit was could not be observed. Urn, having the shape of a store-jar and a slightly flaring rim. Broomed ornament. Bowl, placed in the mouth of the urn. It has an arched funnel-shaped neck, a flaring rim, a trun­cated cone-shaped body and a small pedesital. Both its handles bridge the neck. H: 13,5 cm; RD: 28,5 cm; BD: 7,5 cm. (PL VI no. 1.) Bronze jewels, uncovered in the urn among the burnt human bones, a) Crescent-shaped pendant (PI. VI no. 2); b) fragments of tiny tubes of plates (PI. VI nos 3—4). Grave 19. — (Inv. no. 62.19.1-2.) Rite: urn-crema­tion. Depth: 72 cm. The shape of the grave-pit was not visible. Urn, lacking neck and rim. A double truncated cone-shaped body. H: 37 cm; BD: 12 cm. (PI. VI no. 5.) Bowl, placed in the mouth of the urn. It has an arched flaring neck and a similar rim, the body is truncated cone-shaped. A stroke-ornament is run­ning round at the junction of the neck and the truncated cone-shaped body. H: 11 cm; RD: 27,5 cm; BD: 8,5 cm. (PI. VI no. 6.) Grave 2 0. — (Inv. no. 62.20.1-2.) Rite: urn-cre­mation. Depth: 65 cm. The shape of the grave-pit was not to be observed. Urn, having an arched flaring neck and a trunca­ted cone-shaped body. A plastic rib, showing fin­ger imprints, runs round its bulge. H: 37,5 cm; BD: 11 cm. (PI. VI no. 7.) Bowl, placed in the mouth of the urn. It has an arched neck and a flaring rim, its neck joins the truncated cone-shaped body in a sharp bend. Two­handled. H: 8,5 cm; RD: 20 cm; BD: 7 cm. (PL VI no. 8.) Grave 21. — (Inv. no. 62.21.1-5.) Rite: urn-crema­tion. Depth: 70 cm. The line of the gravenpit could not be defined. Urn, lacking neck and rim. Its shoulder has the shape of an arched truncated cone, the lower half the same. Its shoulder is linked by a handle with the rim. H: 29 cm; BD: 11 cm. (PL VI no. 10.) Bowl, placed in the mouth of the urn. A one­handled vessel with a well flaring neck and simi­lar rim, a truncated cone-shaped body. H: 8,5 cm; RD: 24,5 cm; BD: 8 cm. (PL VI no. 9.) Jug, found at the south-eastern side of the urn. Entirely decayed. Its shape is unknown, Jug, found at the side of the urn. It is a vessel with a funnel-shaped neck, a flaring rim and a globular body. Plural cord-ornament is seen on its neck and on the handle, bridging the rim and the shoulder. Fragmentary. (PL VII nos 1—5.) Among the burnt human bones a tiny bronze frag­ment has come to light.' Grave 22. — (Inv. no. 62.22.1-4.) Rite: urn-crema­tion. Depth: 95 cm. The shape of the grave-pit cannot be defined. Urn, with a funnel-shaped neck, a convex-shaped arched shoulder and a truncated cone-shaped body. H: 51 cm; RD: 37 cm; BD: 11,5 cm. (PL VII no. 8.> Bowl, placed in the mouth of the urn. It is cha­racterized by an arched concave neck, a flaring; rim and a body like a truncated cone, joining the neck with a sharp bend. One-handled. H: 13,5 cm;. RD: 30,5 cm; BD: 9 cm. (PL VII no. 7.) Jug, placed at the south-eastern side of the urn. It has a flaring neck and rim, a globular body joins the neck in an arch. One-handled. H: 7 cm; RD: 6,5 cm; BD: 2 cm. (PL VII no. 6.) Stone axe, placed beside the urn together with the small jug. Perforated in the middle. Length: 16 cm; width: 4,5 cm; thickness: 3 to 4 cm. (PL VIII no. 1.) Grave 2 3. — (Inv. no. 62. 23. 1—5.) Rite: urn-cre­mation. Depth: 100 cm. Similarly to the former graves, the shape of the pit was not visible here. Urn, with a flaring rim, its arched neck joins the extended globular body without a bend. One handle starting below the rim and leaning on the shoulder. H: 40 cm; RD: 25 cm; BD: 9 cm. (PL VIII no. 2.) Bowl, placed in the mouth of the urn. The wide funnel-shaped neck joins the truncated cone-shaped lower part with a sharp bend. The bowl has a truncated cone-shaped pedestal. H: 15 cm; RD: 25' cm; BD: 9,5 cm. (PL VIII no. 5.) Small bowl, found in the bowl standing in the mouth of the urn. It stands on a hemispherical, somewhat arched cylindrical pedestal and has two­small perforations below the rim. H: 5,5 cm; RD: 10,5 cm; BD: 4,5 cm. (PL VIII no. 6.) Jug, found standing at the southern side of the urn. It has a somewhat arched, concave neck and rim, and a slightly bulging beaker-shape. One­handled. H: 6,3 cm; RD: 6 cm; BD: 4,5 cm. (PL VIII no. 4.) Bone pin, found among the burnt human bones.. Length: 5,7 cm.. (PL VIII no. 3.) Grave 2 4. — (Inv. no. 62. 24. 1—3.) Rite: urn-cre­mation. Depth: 73 cm. The shape of the grave-pit. cannot be defined. Urn, entirely crushed, its shape may have been that of an extended globe, with a flaring neck and rim, one handle on the shoulder. Bowl placed in the mouth of the urn. Its neck is concavely arched, flaring, the rim similar, the neck is bridged by two handles. Its body is an inverted truncated cone. It stands on a small truncated cone­shaped pedestal. H: 11,5 cm; RD: 24,5 cm; BD: 8,5 cm,. (PL VIII no. 7.) Small bowl, found in the urn. It has a hemispheri­cal body and a profiled, truncated cone-shaped pedestal. Fragmentary. (PL IX no. 1.) Graves 2 5 — 2 7. — The material of these three­graves cannot be separated, since they have come to light in course of the construction of the canal. They received their numbers according to their situation in the group of graves. Urn, with a flaring rim and an arched neck. Its. neck joins the prolonged globular body without a bend. Its handle bridges the neck. A plastic lattice ornament runs round its bulge. H: 39 cm; RD: 30 cm; BD: 11 cm. (PL IX no. 2.) Urn, entirely identical with the former urn as to shape, just somewhat stouter. (PL IX no. 3.) Grave 28. — (Inv. no. 62. 28. 1—3.) The grave has been disturbed in course of canalization. Its rite is urn-cremation. Urn, very fragmentary. Bowl, found in the mouth of the urn. It has a flaring neck and rim, and a truncated cone-shaped body. Its single handle bridges the neck.
