not in the least the connections with their southern relatives preserved for a long time. They set against the bronze battle-axes of Cau­casian origin of the eastern herdsmen their traditional, not less developped, Balcanic — Anatolian bronze axe-adges (e. g. the Kömlőd hoard) and various daggers, weapons unknown in the interior of Europe earlier (e. g. the Ószőny and Csorvás daggers). The types of these weapons used in the Central Danubian basin belong in the orbit of forms used in the Aegean region and in Anatolia between 2100 and 1900, so their appearance may be under­stood in the framework of the peoples' move­ments outlined above.
