1. Oval-shaped urn, between the neck and the body a groove is running round, bridged over by two larger and two smaller handles. The lower third shows a brushed surface, below the impressed lattice ornament (PI. V no. 6). 2. A so-called vase for suspension, small, double-handled, standing on a low, pierced tubular support (PI. V no. 4). Its surface is covered with a characteristic inerusted Zók type decoration. Sziget s zemtmiik lós — Aircraft Factory. Finds coming to light at the milestone 7 km of the road leading to the Danubian Aircraft Factory. We are going to present the majority of the authentic material when dealing with the Szigetszentmiklós type. The vessels related to our group are the following (Hungarian National Museum 29—30, 1948): 1. One-handled biconioal pot. Its handled leans upon a moustache ornament, consisting of a fork4.ike lattice. Height: 12.5 cm (PI. VI. No. 6). 2. One handled jug with a biconioal body. Dark grey. Height: 9.5 cm (PI. VII no. 9). 3. One-handled Nagyrév jug. Dark grey. Height: 9 7 cm (PI. VII no. 8). 4. Pedestalled dish with a straight rim, having originally a handle pierced at two places. Red with grey patches. Height: 7.4 cm (PL VII. no. 5). 5. One-bandied store-jar, on the upper third a row of warts divided into two halves. Dark brownishgrey. Height: 15.5 cm (PI. VII no. 10) 6. Coarse pot with a coarse lattice running round in the upper third. Grey with reddish patches. Height; 16.2 cm (PI. VII no. 7). Szigetszentmiklós — H á г о s. In this part of the area of the village, along the Danube, and in another part called „Nyilas", on the estate of P. P. Szabó, the following vessels of our group were uncovered (Hungarian National Museum ibid.): 1. Handled jug, one-handled Nagyrév shape Grey yellowish patches. Height: 10.3 cm (PI. VII no. 4). 2. A similar one, smaller, dark grey. Height: 8.8 cm (PI. VII no. 3). 3 One-handled biconical pot. Grey with yellowish patches. Height: 14.4 cm (PI. VII no. 2). 4. Store-jar, the upper half is smoothed, the lower part, divided by an impressed lattice, coarse. Below the rim there is a wart handle. Height: 14,7 cm (PI. VII no. 1). Nagykörös — the land of the Reformed Church. T. Horváth has brought two vessels to the National Museum from there. (Hungarian National Museum 10, 1936, 1—2.) One of them is the fragment of a support of a vase, the other a dark brown dish, standing on a small pedestal. Height: 7.5 cm (PI. VI no. 5). Nagykőrös — Alsófüzes cattletrack. The following vessels came to light on the land of the schoolmaster. G. Papp, during earthwork, evidently from cremation graves. T. Horváth has brought them to the National Museum (Hungarian National Museum 49,1936, 1—8.) They have belonged to the former find in all probability. 1. One-handled Nagyrév jar, on its bulging belly three ribs running downwards. Light brown. Height: 17.3 cm (PI. VI no. 10) 2. One-handled jar. Black. Height: 16 cm (PI. XXV no. 9 (with the erroneous site Pilin) has published it as a Tószeg В vessel. The same is presented among the Kisapostag forms by Patay op. cit. pl. V no. 5. 15 p. PATAY, op. cit. pl. IV no. 4 publishes it as a Kisapostag form. handled jugs with biconical bodies. Brown with black patches. The largest is 9.7 cm high (PI. VI nos 6, 8—9). 8—10. One-handled jugs with bulging bellies (PI. VI nos 7, 13, 15) 11. The fragment of a coarse beaker, with a furrowed lattice ornament running round its belly. Orange. Height: 6.5 cm (PI. VI no. 11). Kiskőrös — S: e r e g é 1 y) e s . Vessels purchased by the National Museum. (Hungarian National Museum 67,1939). Their coherence is uncertain according to the inventory, so they cannot be regarded as an autentic unit. 1. A jug with a compressed globular body and an arched neck, its handle starts from the rim. Greyish-brown. Height: 8.9 cm (PI. VIII no. 4). (A strange shape in the group.) 2. The fragment of a conical bowl, originally four-handled. Brown. Height: 9.5 cm (PI VIII no. 3). Kis к; ő г ös — M e 1 e g h а 1 о щ . (Hungarian National Museum ibid.) 1—2. Biconical Nagyrév jugs. Grey. The height of the larger is 9.6 cm (PI VIII nos 1,5). 3. Beaker with a small handle (PI. VIII no. 2) Cegléd. As judged by its shape and mateterial, a truncated cone-shaped vessel of the Kecskemét Museum, with a horizontally applied handle, belongs to our group (PI. VI no. 18). The Cegléd Museum has a one-handled Nagyrév jug (PI. XIII no. 17) and a double-handled, oval-shaped beaker with a cylindrical neck (PI. XIII no. 16) which may be assigned to this type. In order to illustrate the extension af our group, we have to mention the following vessels yet, most of them lacking the exact circumstances of discovery: Dunaföldvár. One-handled biconical pot. At its largest diameter a groove is running round, bridged over by three small handles (Hungarian National Museum 130, 1872, 2) (PI. VIII no. 6). The Kiskunfélegyháza Museum has, together with numerous other stray finds from the Bronze Age, a one-handled biconical pot (PL VIII no. 11). The finds might possibly be derived from Tószeg or Alpár. In the Nagykanizsa Museum we see a one-handled biconical pot from an unknown site (allegedly found in the surroundings of the city. PI. VIII, no. 9) and a one-handled Nagyrév jar (PI. VIII no. 12). The one-time collection of K. Schuck has acuired a one-haindled biconical pot from В a 1 a t о n b e r é n y (Pl. VIII no. 10, after a photograph). From Simontornya the Szombathely Museum collected a one-handled biconical pot (PI. VIII no. 13) and a one-handled Nagyrév jug belonging to it (?) Üj dombóvár has yielded the single decorated one-handled ibiconieal pot (Hungarian National Museum) 14 (Pi. VIII no. 14). The Hungarian National Museum preserves a somewhat bulging biconical jug, with a furrowed moustache ornament below the handle, from Adony 15 (PI. VII no. 14). The same museum has (184, 1873) a double-handled small beaker with oval body and cylindrical neck from Aszód (PL XIII no. 15). We are presenting a smaller and a larger one-handled Nagyrév jug from the earlier Tököl finds of the National Museum 16 (PL VII nos 11—12). These finds are derived from cremation graves. Finally we include a one-handled dish with a truncated cone-shaped body from the collection of the Esztergom Museum. It was found at Zsámbék (PL VII no. 13). IG F. TOMPA, Budapest története I. őskor. [History of Budapest I. Prehistory.] (Budapest 1942) PI. IX nos 1—2, as Bronze Age I. type. The same represent the further development of the Bell-Beaker culture for Patay op. cit. pl. I nos 10—11. 13
