With the help of Hungarian songs, tales, dances, and games the mistrel-scout performed the miracle of reforging the divided Hungarian society through minstrelling. This was accomplished by visiting villages and camps, and actually living there, and taking part in national minstrel wanderings. An especially nice memory of minstrel-scouting is the Winter Minstrel Camp of 1945 where every day scouts visited different villages of the mixed population are and did not experience any feelings of nationalism. It showed an example for international friedship based on mutual respect for national values. 85
