lier time. To-date we do not have exact data for finding out the ecological, socialeconomical background of these changes. We can only suggest that the use of the wooden plough supplied with a metal shoe may had some role in that (MEDOVIC 1993). Using this plough it was possible to cultivate a bigger territory. So, we can not exclude the possibility that in this period of the Late Bronze Age the outstanding role of cattle breeding was in an indirect connection with the ploughing agriculture and the use of the walking plough connected with it. Studying the genesis of the Gáva culture we can observe a quick process of uniformization involving enormous territories. The only thing that could represent the background of this process could be the intensifying need for bronze raw material and tools characteristic for this period of the Late Bronze Age. The continuous metal raw material supply demanded by different communities could be provided only by a system of trade relations spread on a large territory, supported by reliable points. We think that this well organized system involving different ecological zones was spreading gradually. Parallel with that, it spread more and more information, that is to say, cultural, technological and fashion directions. In this way it formed the conditions of the formation of large technocomplexes. We do not know if there have been some political system in the background of this big unity, but similarly to other regions of the Carpathian basin there is a large amount of weapons found on the territory of county Csongrád (e.g. swords: vicinity of Szeged, Kistelek, Szöreg, Mártély, Deszk, Szentes-Kaján, Hódmezővásárhely-Kútvölgy, Hódmezővásárhely-Batida, Szentes-Nagyhegy) and objects of prestige (pottery: SzentesNagyhegy) that refer to the existence of an outstandingly strong military aristocracy.
