Margit Istók, the prominent figure of music education in Makó, died two decades ago

My career as a musician was started by the devoted music teacher, Margit Istók. This anniversary might make us recall some personal memories and remember some of the professional advice she gave us. Her musical talent was really powerful and unequivocal. Unfortunately, her recurring tendonitis deprived her of a career as a pianist, but her highly successful teaching activity compensated her abundantly. Her students would always play sensitively, in a carefully trained way, being absolutely sure about the style. I would willingly list everybody concerned, but here and now / mention only a few names: Csilla Szentpéteri, Judit Erdei, Csaba Kiss, Erika Tóth, Erika Cseh. To me, she appears a staunchly balanced piano teacher of a firm knowledge, and so she will remain forever.
