Summary

efficient. The exploratory tours arranged by motorboats, punts and ships, bikes and on foot enriched the documents of our collections. From the end of the 50s the interest of Győző Csongor - without quitting his botanical research - oriented more and more to the town history. From 1965 he became the head of our local historical department. In 1963 (parallely) László Gallé, senior teacher a a secondary school, was assigned to manage the herbarium who proved loyalty to the institution of ours until his passing in 1980. Similarly to his co-workers Gallé was also an active participant in the Tisza research programs. He even wrote his thesis about The Lichen Association of the Tisza Region in 1967. The division of the natural sciences has been increased with Mrs Dr Bátyai. After the leaving of Péter Készei in 1968 she remains the only preparator. At the start of the 70s there were some significant changes in the staff carried out in the division of the natural sciences. The very first person to mention was Aranka Hajpál who worked for us from June 1973 to May 1974. This brief time was enough only to establish the base of her fish skeleton collection. The beginning of work of Béla Gaskó started in 1974, his field of activity was entomology. The two dominent persons of the last decades, Miklós Marián and Győző Csongor retire almost at the same time (1974 and 1975) and leave our institution. 1985 two new colleagues start to work at our division of natural sciences. The field of activity of László Tóth, store-keeper, is mainly environmental protection and entomology. Ms Dr Moldovay was dealing with botanical matters and xylotomy until she died in 1994. In 1986 the department of natural sciences was set up at last. As the part of staff increase Péter Készei again started to work for us as a preparator in 1988. His employment was quit in 1996. András Varga joined us as a surveyor in 1989. He takes part in basic surveys moreover he develops the collection of minerals and rocks. In the very same year Tamás Antal was employed as a store-keeper. His present field of activity is the registration and the technical realisation of different exhibitions of the department. Since the foundation of the department its relevant task is the public culture. As a confirmation of our words let's summarize the list of our permanent exhibitions:
