A TISZA-VIDÉKI FÜLKESÍROS TEMETKEZÉSEK ÉS KAPCSOLATAIK című konferencia előadásai - MARCSENKO, Ivan Ivanovics: A Kubány-vidék szarmata katakombái

chronological groups: second half of the 4th-beginning of the 3rd cent. B.C. (1), second-third quarter of the 3rd cent. B.C. (2), end of the 3rd-2nd cent. B.C. (3), middle of the 1st cent. B.C. (4), first half of the 1st cent. A.D. (5), second half of the 1stmiddle of the 3rd cent. A.D. (6). Almost all the constructions (except for one) belong to type I by K. F. Smirnov (the chamber and the shaft are placed along the same axis). The catacombs of the first three groups were introduced into Bronze Age barrows. The graves were oriented in the westem sector and were installed by grave articles typical for tins time (swords and daggers with shickle shaped handle, bronze and iron arrow heads wiüi sockets, bits with cross-shaped details, fibulae of Middle La Tone scheme, local grey ceramics etc.). In group 3 noblemen burials with golden decorations appear (Karstovyi cemetery), on its late phase features of the Prokhorovka culture can be traced. On the basis of the small Иван Иванович Марченко 350058 Краснодар Старокубанская ул. 111, кв. 67. Россия number of these burials the representatives of Üns culture were quickly integrated into the local (Sirac) environment. 4Tie characteristic feature of the catacombs of groups 4 and 5 is that die dead were oriented in the southern sector. The catacombs of group 6 are represented by the burials of the Zolotoie kladbishche (Golden cemetery). From ethnical point of view the catacombs of the Kuban region can be identified as the heritage of the Siraci. However, catacomb burial constructions define not the ethnical attribution of the dead, but his or her social status. This phenomenon gets its final form in the Zolotoie kladbishche that considered to be Alanic. The author of the article thinks that the catacombs of the Zolotoie kladbishche belong to die representatives of Siracian aristocracy who became die part of die alliance of Alan tribes after the events of 49 A.D. (conflict between Rome and Bosporus in winch Siraci and Aorsi took part). Translated by Valéria KULCSÁR Ivan Ivanovich Marchenko 350058 Krasnodar Starokubanskaia id. Ill, kv. 67.
