More than 100 memorial tablets, 50 statues and relieves honours the memory of the illustrious citizens of Mako and Hungary. Those, who made their fame in literature, hold especially important seats among our prominent townspeople, such as Dobsa Lajos, Juhász Gyula, Móra Ferenc, Szegedi Kis István, Szikszai György, Tömörkény István. József Attila is even emerging from them, as he has the most memories in this town. The rich collection of the József Attila Museum helps the researchers, the memorial house and the commemorations held there are for a wider audience. The statues on the public squares and the memorial tablets on the pavements and buildings remind the local people and the guests of the town of the fact, that Makó is proud of his role in the Hungarian Literature. 100
