FORGÓ Géza: Elfeledett makói prédikátorok

GÉZA FORGÓ FORGOTTEN PREACHERS OF MAKÓ Present study remembers two preachers of the Reformed congregation in Makó. During the office of Miklós Etsedi (1754-1803) and Benjámin Szikszai (1772-1828) the Reformed ministry in Makó also served as a literary island of literature. Miklós Ecsedi's poems were popular with the religious folk, while Benjámin Szikszai's books were well-known among the connoisseurs. Their volumes had several editions in the first half of the 19th century, and in the same century they were still mentioned in bibliographies. However, later on these prominent church writers were forgotten. Two plaques commemorate their life and work on the wall of the old church in Makó.
