1. ) Although the Catholic denomination changed, there were stable Protestant and Jewish groups integrated within the social structure of the city. 2. ) We can see their social effect especially in the development of the participation of their followers in civil organizations and activities, and the amount of social care provided for their members. It was the Jewish Religious community that certainly showed several signs of independent social goodwill. It was typical of all religious denominations to ensure the education of their members in addition to their spiritual needs. One other aspect of the analysis of the religious relationship is the way it related to the division of the minorities. Examining them on the whole, it is obvious that behind all three great denominations (Catholic, Protestant and Izraelite), there was a population which was becoming more and more Hungarian, while the Serbs and the Greek Orthodox Church were beginning to show a marked decrease in their numbers.
