Markos Gyöngyi: Gyermekélet Makón és környékén a XX. század első felében

resting-place of young children: the cradle, then the den, the chair-bed are widely used resting places that were made according to the financial conditions of the family. After reporting on the washing of young children the paper discusses their clothing. Until the age of six not much care was taken of the clothing of young children, boys and girls wore "the same fur", which was called ubony or zubony ("jacket"). After 1900, and especially between the two world wars the clothing of boys and girls became different. The education of children was the duty of their mother and grandmother. The spontaneous family education is illustrated by quotations of informants. The rest of the paper is concerned with two other topics: young children and plays, and young children and work. 83
