Történettudomány - Szolnoki Zoltán: Gólyospálosi csárdatörténet
Szolnoki Zoltán Csólyospálosi csárdatörténet The story of an inn at Csólyospálos Zoltán Szolnoki Inns were peculiar institutions of the plain. Primarily they served as a resting place for travelers but later on they also become the foundation ofvarious folk traditions and legends. These inns were usually located a day's walk away from each other. The inns of the former Csólyos and Pálos plains can be considered unique, since they operated in close proximity to one another along the road towards Szeged. This reason for this historical-geographic peculiarity is that the various parts of the socially and economically connected plain fell under the jurisdiction of different settlements: Csólyos plain belonged to Kiskunmajsa, the upper segment of Pálos plain belonged to Jászkisér and its lower segment belonged to Jászladány. In the 18th century this led to several border-related disputes as well. In my study I examine the historical sources related to the two inns. The first among them came to be in 1724, while the last one in 1857. Based on contemporary documentation detailing the rental of inns we are able to deduce the various functions of these inns and the importance of the individual lodgings. The other main group of sources consists ofvarious maps, map sketches, which illustrate the position of the two inns in relation to each other, and the peculiar geographic conditions very well. These are the surveys of Joannes Fridvalszky, Elek Varga and Bedekovich from between 1780 and 1824 and the map of the county from 1793. 118
