MŰVÉSZETTÖRTÉNET - Nátyi Róbert: „Lelkek halásza, szívek horgásza” - Adalékok a barokk Krisztus ikonográfia egy különleges típusához
Róbert Nátyi Fisherman of souls "Fisherman of souls, angler of hearts" Data on a special type of iconography of Christ in the Baroque Period Róbert Nátyi The present study presents a fairly rare icono- graphic variant from the unbelievably rich treasure of a new type of Baroque sacred imagery, which intensified after and due to the Tridentinum. The copperplate depicting Christ, the "fisherman of souls” came from the small baroque graphic collection of Zoltán Szilárdfy and came to life in the workshop of Jan Jirzi Balzer (1738-1799} (the German version of his name is Johan Georg) in the 18th century. The study - starting from ancient Christian theological roots (Tertulianus, St. Cyril, St. Clement of Alexandria) and the iconographic variations of medieval and renaissance fine arts which became fixed during the course of several centuries - presents the literary, theological pictoral sources of our plate. 307
