Resume. Munkácsy and Colpach

The Hungarian-Luxemburgian cultural relations have been formed by two friendly companies since the 1980s; the Amities Hongroises Luxembourg and the Hungarian-Luxemburg Friendly Company. They together designed the Munkácsy Celebration in Colpach in year 1995 dedicating to the painter a memorial table on the castles wall. In 1996 a Luxemburgján exhibition took place in the National Museum of History and Arts. A remarkable part of it was composed out of the Hungarian museums’ materials: e.g. 16 paintings were lent by the Hungarian National Gallery and relics, documefits and paintings were given by the Museum of Békéscsaba. The Munkácsy Mihály Museum in Békéscsaba has been continually collecting the Luxemburgján data and documents and helping the Luxemburgján researchers’ work as early as since the 1960s.
