the time when the Notre Dame became one of his major themes he depicted several times. He was painting the cathedral and the gently flowing river Seine from the window of his hotel. From 1924 he became decisive member and permanent exhibitor-partaker of KUT (a pun, abridged from the Hungarian „New Society of Creative Artists", meaning „fresh-water well" at the same time) that followed progressive and Western European artistic trends. The Society organized exhibitions every year until 1943, mostly in the Salon National of Hungary. From around the 1930's Perlrott found inspiration in nature again. In 1949, he was admitted into the Painters Society of Szentendre, and he was working as a member of the Old Art Settlement (Farm) of Szentendre until his death in 1959. His works can be found in significant public collections in Budapest and in the country, and in highly regarded Hungarian and foreign private collections. The reproductions of this book are coming from Hungarian public collections (mostly from the Munkácsy Mihály Múzeum of Békéscsaba). 109
