Katalógus - Domokos Tamás–Lennert József–Kertész Éva: A természettudományi osztály ismertetett műtárgyai
17. Madártojások Palágyi (Petrásovics) Lajos (1883-1959) pénzügyi szakember 1952-ben a Munkácsy Mihály Múzeumnak ajándékozta madártojás-gyűjteményének egy részét. Ali kartondobozban található kollekció 95 madárfaj 556 db tojását foglalja magába. A gyűjtemény első darabjai 1920ból, a legfiatalabbak pedig 1952-ből származnak, a következő gyűjtőhelyekről: Bagamér, Báránd, Békéscsaba, Biharnagybajom, Debrecen, Deliblát, Doboz, Gyoma, Karcag, Nyírabony, Nyíracsád, Nyírábrány, Pécsvárad, Szarvas, Szeged (Fehér-tó), Székesfehérvár, Velencei-tó, Vésztő. 18. Otis tarda - túzok Magasfuvű sztyeppék állatvilágának az egyik legjelentősebb madara. A füves puszták visszaszorulásával a szántóföldi kultúrák közelébe húzódott át költeni. Magyarországon 1969 - világviszonylatban pedig 1981 - óta védett. A Kárpát-medence legjelentősebb élőhelyei KeletMagyarországon a Körös-Maros Nemzeti Park dévaványai-ecsegi szikes puszták egységében találhatók. Uhu - Bubo bubo A legnagyobb európai bagoly. (Kétszerese az erdei fülesbagolynak!) Fokozottan védett. Egyedei középhegységekben fészkelnek. Ritkán költ faodúban. A bemutatott példány Csat h Andrástól származik. Bird-eggs Lajos (Petrásovics) Palágyi (1883-1959), financial counsellor, donated a part of his bird-egg collection to the Munkácsy Mihály Museum in 1952. The collection placed in 11 carton boxes includes 556 pieces of eggs of 95 bird-species. The first pieces of the collection date back to 1920, the earlier ones date back to 1952 from the following places of collection: Bagamér, Báránd, Békéscsaba, Biharnagybajom, Debrecen, Deliblát, Doboz, Gyoma, Karcag, Nyírabony, Nyíracsád, Nyírábrány, Pécsvárad, Szarvas, Szeged (Fehér Lake), Székesfehérvár, Velence Lake, Vésztő. In a colour photo showing the contents of one of the carton box a collection of Szarvas from 1924 and from 1928 and a collection of Nyírábrány from 1942 can be seen as well as the slip of the mavis and the tree-lark - together with inventory numbers. 18. Otis tarda - bustard One of the most significant birds of the animal-world in the high-grassed steppe. As the grassed steppe became smaller and smaller it moved over near to the arable cultures to breed eggs. It has been protected since 1969 in Hungary and since 1981 in the workl The most significant habitats of the Carpathian Basin can be found in EastHungary, in the units of the saline steppes of Dévaványa and Ecseg in the Körös-Maros National Park. In the reserve of Dévaványa a breeding and re-accustoming farm is working. Near the farm a museum is waiting for the visitors. The preparations of the layer and the cock can be seen in one of the big diorama of the Pro Natura-exhibition. Place of collection: Békéscsaba Collector: Endre Zsilinszky Time of collection: June 1901 Inventory number: 54.420.1.; 54.421.1. 19. Eared little owl - Otus scops This span-long bird of prey comes to our country from its African hibernacle in April. It likes the old orchards and it lays eggs in the holes of the old trees standing there. It lays eggs in May-June and migrates to the south in August-September. The number of its habitats decreased so much that only protection can ensure the subsistence of it. It is a special curiosity that this preparation served as first ocular demonstration for the occurrence of the eared little owl in the Great Plain. Place of collection: Békéscsaba, Kovács P. street Collector: Time of collection: 1954 Inventory number: 76.12.20.10. 20. Eagle-owl - Bubo-bubo The biggest European owl. (Twice bigger than the tree horned owl.) Especially protected. They nest in mountain-ranges of medium height. They rarely lay eggs in wooden holes. The presented specimen was received from András Csath. We do not know that from whom he got the bagged animal. The date of the bagging is also uncertain as we know two versions: 13 th December 1952 and 8 th March 1953. In the inventory of the museum the earlier date can be found. In the notes of András Csath, however, the latter. From the notes of András Csath we know that the pair of the museum-specimen could be found heretofore in the collection of the elementary school of Doboz. Today there is not trace of the schoolcollection. Since, however, we have information on two eagle-owls, and the places of the shootings were the same in both cases, and since the two eagle-owls were of the opposite sex, we can suppose that a starving eagle-owl couple came to our region from the Bihar through the green corridor of the Fekete-Körös.
