54. Ácsolt láda Származási helye: Békéscsaba Leltári száma: 92.1.3. M: 92 cm, H.: 92 cm, Sz.: 57 cm A gyalult tölgyfából készített, ácsolt, sarokpilléres szerkezetű láda elülső oldalán és házfedél alakú tetején geometrikus díszítés található. Békés megye szlováklakta helységeibe ezen ládák típusa a XVIII. század első felében, az újratelepítők által vagy családi kapcsolat illetve vándoriparosok révén került. Később a megye szlovák lakossága is készítette a Bihar erdőségeiből leúsztatott keményfából. Eredetileg kelengyebútor szerepet töltött be, divatja múltával, a századforduló táján azonban kikerült a kamrába. Az 1844-es datálású ácsolt láda helyi elnevezése: "skrina". 55. Mennyezetes ágy eleje Származási helye: Tótkomlós Leltári száma: 94.23.1.1-2. M: 159 cm, Sz.: 100 cm, V.: 10 cm A múlt század közepéből származó mennyezetes ágy "posfel'", "sunoghálov" a tótkomlósi asztalosmesterek egyik remekbe szabott darabja. A fenyőfából készült ágy elejének koronája fűrészelt díszítésű, stilizált kétfejű sast ábrázol, dúsan festett, színes virágozással. Az ágy helye mindenkor a ház tisztaszobájában volt, általában csak a család vendége vagy gyermekágyas asszonya használhatta. 56. Rengő pad részlete Szánnazási helye: Békéscsaba Leltári száma: 52.2734.1. H.: 132 cm, Sz.: 34 cm, M: 86 cm A békéscsabai Munkácsy Mihály Múzeum néprajzi gyűjteményének egyik legkorábbról datált tárgya a domborúan faragott, festett csabai rengő pad, "lavica". A XVIII-XIX. századi hagyományos csabai tisztaszoba belső elrendezésében a becsapolt lábú, áttört támlájú, csuklós karfájú pad az ágy előtt állott, éjszakára háttámláját átfordítva fekhelyül is szolgált. A sötétkék alapfestésű sárga, piros, zöld botanomorf díszítésű pad a XVIII. századi csabai bútorkészítő mesterek jellegzetesen míves darabja. 57. Faragott, festett ökörjárom Szánnazási helye: Tótkomlós Leltári száma: 52.2686.1. EL: 136 cm, M.: 106 cm A keményfából készült járom, "jarmo " két bélfája, mely a járomfa fölé ívesen fölnyúlik, díszes faragással, festéssel van ellátva. A faragott jármot, mely Békés megye területén ritkaságszámba ment, egy ügyes kezű béres ember készítette - aki tótkomlósi széktámlákat is faragott - gazdájának, erdélyi analógiák alapján. Az 1900-as években készült díszes iga feltehetőleg csak ünnepi alkalmakkor volt használatban. A tárgy a múzeum néprajzi gyűjteményének törzsanyagából származik. 58. Ostyasütővas Származási helye: Békéscsaba Leltári száma: 81.37.1. H.: 73,7 cm, a sütővas Sz.: 15,8 cm A római katolikus liturgiában a mise és az áldozás egyik kelléke a szentostya, melyet tojás, cukor, liszt, tej és víz keverékéből ostyasütővas segítségével készítenek el. Az evangélikus egyház is használ ostyát az úrvacsora szertartásánál. A kovácsoltvas, ovális alakú, vésett mintázatú, virágos motívummal övezett két keresztet korpusszal ábrázoló ostyasütővassal is az egyháznak készítettek ostyát. 54. Trimmed chest Provenience: Békéscsaba Inventory number: 92.1.3 H.: 92 cm, L.: 92 cm, W.: 57 cm Roof-shaped geometric ornament can be found on the front side of the trimmed, corner-piece structured chest made of planed oak. This type of chests was brought into the Slovak settlements of Békés County in the first half of the 18

th century by the re-settlers, family relations or by wandering traders. Later the Slovak population of the county also made it out of the hardwood drifted from the forests of the Bihar. Originally it belonged to the dotal gift of the women, when it went out of date at the turn of the century, however, it was placed in the pantry. The local name of the trimmed chest dated in 1844: "skrina ". 55. Front of a ceiling bed Provenience: Tótkomlós Inventory number: 94.23.1.1-2 L.: 159 cm, W.: 100 cm; Th.: 10 cm The ceiling bed, "post'el", "sunoghálov" is dated back to the middle of the previous century is a masterful piece of the cabinet-makers of Tótkomlós. The crown of the front of the fir bed is ornamented with saw, it shows a conventionalised two-headed eagle with richly painted, colourful flowers. The place of the bed was always in the ben of the house, and only the guest of the family or the confined woman could use it. 56. Rocking bench Provenience: Békéscsaba Inventory number: 52.2734.1 L.: 132 cm,W.:34 cm, H.: 86 cm The roundly carved, painted rocking bench, "lavica", of Csaba is dated back to the earliest time in the ethnographical collection of the Munkácsy Mihály Museum of Békéscsaba. The bench made with articled arm-rest, with pierced back-rest and with mortised legs stood in front of the bed in the traditional ben of the 18 -19

th century, and it served also as bed by reversing its back-rest at night. The bench primed with dark blue colour and ornamented with yellow, red and green botanomorf motives a characteristically beautiful piece of the furniture making masters of Csaba in the 18

th century. 57. Carved, painted yoke Provenience: Tótkomlós Inventory number: 52.2686.1 L: 136 cm, H.: 106 cm The two inside timbers of the bow, "jarmo", made of hardwood, which carves above the stud are supplied with ornamented carving and painting. The carved yoke which was curiosity in the area of Békés County was made by a skilful farm-hand, who also carved back-rests for chairs in Tótkomlós, for his master on the basis of Transylvanian analogues. The ornamented yoke made in the 1900s was probably used only at festive occasions. The object originated from the corpus the of the ethnographical collection of the museum. 58. Altar-bread iron Provenience: Békéscsaba hiventory number: 87.37.1 L.:73.7 cm, W.: 15.8 cm One requisite of the mass and the Holy Communion in the Roman Catholic liturgy is the saint altar-bread which was made of the mixture of egg, sugar, milk, and water with help of an altar-bread iron. The altar-bread was baked for the church also with this hammered, oval-shaped altar-bread iron made with carved patterns, representing two crosses with corpus, belted with flower-motives. 128
